Electronics Technician, Cast Resin Transformers Enclosure Assembly
Since 2017 at SGB

Please introduce yourself briefly

In September 2017, I began my apprenticeship as an electronics technician specializing in machine and drive technology at SGB, which I successfully completed in January 2021. I have been working at the company ever since and am celebrating my eighth anniversary this year.
After completing my apprenticeship, I was hired in the housing assembly department for cast resin transformers, where I have been working ever since. In addition, I have been assisting with “GT” parts manufacturing on a temporary basis for about two years.
In May 2025, I successfully obtained my AdA certificate, and I am currently pursuing further training to become an industrial foreman in electrical engineering, which I expect to complete in May 2027.

Describe your typical workday in three words

“Enclosure Assembly”, “Wiring”, “Creativity”

My daily work involves installing cast resin transformers into protective enclosures, as well as installing and wiring electronic components to the transformer or enclosure.
The work is often very extensive and customized, as enclosures are both modified and completely assembled and disassembled.
Since the work is often heavily tailored to individual customer requirements, it requires creativity and the ability to manufacture enclosures and transformers in designs that have not yet been implemented.

What has been your most exciting experience at SGB so far?

One of my most exciting experiences at SGB was working in the GT Service Department, where I was involved in assembly work at data centers, specifically assembling enclosures for transformers.

Who would you recommend this job to?

I recommend this career to anyone who is interested in technology, enjoys learning new things, and likes working as part of a team.

What do you like to do most to unwind after work?

My biggest hobby is playing the drums.

For several years now, I’ve been playing in my own rock/punk rock band, “DeadMotherAngels.”

We rehearse about twice a week and perform between four and six times a year.
