Our Sustainability Report presents our sustainability strategy and endeavors to date, their outcomes, and the ways in which sustainability shapes the future of SGB-SMIT Group.
Sustainability is more than a goal - it’s our responsibility. At SGB-SMIT, we design transformers that enable efficient energy transmission and distribution, support renewable integration, and minimize environmental impact. We are working to reduce environmental impacts linked to our operations and products where technically and economically feasible.
We support selected United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are connected to our business activities and value chain. We have identified the SDGs that reflect the areas where our activities, products, and improvement programs are most relevant.
Our GREEN Program provides a framework for our ESG-related activities across five areas: Governance, Responsibility, Equality, Employees, and Net Zero. Responsibility and Net Zero cover measures relating to emissions management, product efficiency, circularity, and environmental impact assessments. Equality and Employees address diversity, inclusion, health and safety, and working conditions. Governance covers business ethics, compliance, and data security. SGB-SMIT operates an ombudsman and whistleblowing system through which individuals can report concerns or submit complaints concerning potential human rights or environmental risks and violations, as well as other suspected legal or compliance breaches, in our own operations and supply chain.
All reports are handled confidentially in accordance with applicable legal requirements and the published rules of procedure. SGB-SMIT has appointed attorney Thomas Sedlmayr of SWS Partner mbB in Deggendorf, Germany, as the external contact for the ombudsman and whistleblowing system. The external ombudsperson receives and handles submitted information confidentially, subject to applicable legal requirements and the published rules of procedure.
