Foreman, Power Transformers Core Construction
Since 2011 at SGB
In September 2010, I began my apprenticeship at SGB as an electronics technician specializing in machine and drive technology. After completing my apprenticeship, I worked as an assembler in the active component assembly department. From September 2022 to May 2023, I took a “career break” and earned my master craftsman’s certificate (Industrial Master in Electrical Engineering) on a full-time basis. Since June 2024, I have been working as a foreman in the core construction department for power transformers.
Varied, challenging and social
My job isn’t just about being in the office; I also spend a lot of time on the production floor, which makes my day-to-day work very varied. Challenges arise when problems occur on the production floor, and I get to work with my colleagues to find solutions. Plus, I’m around people a lot. I enjoy talking, and I have great colleagues who are a lot of fun to be around. We’re a fantastic team.
Our company party three years ago. A beer tent was set up on the company grounds, and it was an amazing evening.
I would recommend working at SGB to anyone. I’m a big fan of custom machine building. Every transformer is one-of-a-kind. It’s always exciting, and the work is very, very varied.
In my free time, I love nothing more than going hiking in the mountains.
