Team Leader, Electrical Calculation Cast Resin Transformers
since 2019 at SGB
From 2010 to 2016, I studied electrical engineering and information technology, first at OTH Regensburg and later at the Technical University of Munich. After a year as a research assistant at the Chair of High Voltage and Power Engineering at the Technical University and a detour as a restaurant manager in the upscale gastronomy sector, my path led me to SGB in January 2019, where I started working in electrical calculation for cast resin transformers. In May 2021, I was given the opportunity to take over as team leader, which is why I have been responsible for electrical calculations ever since.
Varied, exciting, challenging.
In my day-to-day work, hardly any two days are the same. The numerous points of contact with other departments, the challenges of operational business, and working on new projects mean that I am never bored, both technically and socially. It always remains exciting to see what challenges, surprises, and new tasks the new working day has to offer.
In addition to the daily challenges and demands of my role as team leader, I am also involved in other areas such as development and customer projects. That's why I spent almost a month at our Ohio site as part of the certification process for a customer project for the US market. I got to know my colleagues personally, gained an insight into everyday working life and the local conditions, and was able to experience life in the USA much more intensively, not just as a tourist but as part of the team.
I wouldn't recommend my job to anyone at first glance—but only because I would be very reluctant to give it up! It requires a combination of technical understanding, a willingness to break new ground, make decisions, and enjoy working with people. While I discuss many technical issues with my team, I also represent and coordinate these issues on the organizational side at the points of contact with other departments. All in all, this makes my job a very good mix of technology and social interaction.
In my free time, I like to meet up with friends for a nice glass of wine, sit on the couch with a good book, keep fit by doing sports, or go to concerts of all kinds. But what recharges my batteries most is traveling to new places, getting to know new cultures, countries, and people, feeding my mind with new impressions, and maybe even incorporating wine, books, and concerts into the mix.
