HR Business Partner, Human Resources
Since 2020 at SGB
My studies (Bachelor’s in Business Administration) brought me to Regensburg, and in March 2020 I started working at SGB as a working student in Human Resources. From my Bachelor’s program through to the completion of my Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, I worked continuously as a working student at SGB until April 2023—a total of over three years. I also wrote both of my theses in collaboration with SGB.
After completing my studies, I joined SGB-SMIT GmbH directly in Group HR in May 2023 and moved back to the local HR team at SGB Regensburg in September 2023, where I continue to work as an HR Business Partner to this day.
I decided to apply for the working student position at SGB back then because the range of responsibilities described really appealed to me. My expectations for the role were more than met, especially because I was able to learn so much and was given my own responsibilities even as a working student.
After completing my studies, I stayed at SGB because I feel very comfortable here. Despite the company’s strong growth, I appreciate the short lines of communication and decision-making, the opportunity to help shape things, and the still-family-like atmosphere.
Diverse, communicative, and goal-oriented
There’s really no such thing as a typical workday for me – every day is different and brings new challenges. In general, as an HR Business Partner, I serve as the point of contact for managers and their employees for any questions or concerns related to their employment. In this role, I support the entire employee lifecycle, from workforce planning and recruiting to employee support, professional development, and exit management. As the central link between management and both current and potential future employees, my daily work is heavily focused on communication, with the goal of always understanding and meeting the needs of both sides.
For me, it’s the whole package: the challenging work, the friendly atmosphere, and the helpful colleagues who are always there to offer advice when I have questions – and who always have a funny remark ready. You can work independently and contribute your ideas at any time – all on an equal footing.
For me, nature and spending time with friends and family are a great way to unwind from work.
In the summer, I usually take a trip to a nearby lake or go for a ride on my gravel bike around Regensburg.
In the winter, on the other hand, you’ll often find me on the slopes.
