Team leader, Electrical Design
Since 2015 at SGB
My journey to SBG began with a conversation at ZWIK – the Zwickau Business and Industry Trade Fair. Even while I was studying electrical engineering, I was fascinated by the intersection of traditional mechanical engineering and electrical engineering – a combination that SBG uniquely brings together in the field of transformer and substation technology.
Although I initially completed my internship at another company, I retained positive memories of my contact with SBG. I eventually returned for my thesis and tackled a challenging topic: “Design of the medium- and low-voltage equipment for a mobile power supply station in a standard shipping container.”
Among other things, I was responsible for the electrical sizing of all equipment and the development of a prototype.
After successfully completing my degree, I started as an electrical design engineer at SBG, and that was the beginning of an exciting journey.
Well-organized, technically sophisticated, forward-looking.
After just one year, I was given the opportunity to take on responsibility for complex projects, particularly in the field of renewable energy. This early opportunity to take on responsibility showed me just how much trust SBG places in its employees.
Shortly thereafter, I moved to basic development. There, I was able to contribute to forward-looking concepts, including the planning and implementation of a company-owned test facility for transformer stations. Since then, this test facility has enabled us to conduct extensive type testing in a practical and efficient manner.
I have been leading the Electrical Design team since May 1, 2024. In this role, I coordinate projects, support the team’s professional development, and contribute my own ideas to continuously advance our technological solutions.
A real highlight was working on the development of the company’s own test facility. Being part of a project like that from the initial idea through to its final implementation, and finally seeing it go into operation, was a special experience.
It was also a big moment for me to take over as head of the electrical design team. A milestone that shows just how much SBG encourages initiative and continuous professional development.
