Electrical Engineer, Team Leader Electrical Construction CS
since 2025 at SBG
My journey to SBG began with a conversation at ZWIK – the Zwickau Business and Industry Contact Fair. Even while studying electrical engineering, I was fascinated by the connection between classic mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, a combination that SBG uniquely brings together in transformer and transformer station technology.
Although I initially completed my internship semester at another company, I retained positive memories of my contact with SBG. I eventually returned to work on my thesis, tackling a challenging topic: “Design of medium- and low-voltage equipment for a mobile power supply station in a standard container.”
Among other things, I was responsible for the electrical dimensioning of all operating equipment and the development of a prototype.
After successfully completing my studies, I started as an electrical design engineer at SBG, and that was the beginning of an exciting development.
Structured, technically sophisticated, future-oriented.
After just one year, I was given responsibility for complex projects, particularly in the field of renewable energies. This early responsibility showed me how much trust SBG places in its employees.
Shortly afterwards, I moved to basic development. There, I was able to work on forward-looking concepts, including the planning and implementation of the company's own test facility for transformer stations. This test facility has since enabled us to carry out extensive type testing in a practical and efficient manner.
I have been leading the electrical design team since May 1, 2024. In this role, I coordinate projects, support the technical development of the team, and contribute my own ideas to continuously advance our technological solutions.
A real highlight was working on the development of the company's own test facility. Accompanying such a project from the initial idea to its final implementation and finally seeing it in operation was a special experience.
It was also a big moment for me to take over as head of the electrical design team. A milestone that shows how much SBG encourages initiative and continuous development.
