SGB-SMIT acquires transformer manufacturer BCV Technologies

1st October 2018 – SGB-SMIT and Schneider Electric have signed an agreement for the purchase of the company "BCV Technologies S.A.S." by an affiliate of the SGB-SMIT Group from Schneider Electric. The transaction is becoming effective per 1st October, 2018.

BCV Technologies is a manufacturer of low and medium voltage dry-type transformers and reactors. The company is based in Fontenay-le-Comte, France. It has a 70 years history and became part of Schneider Electric in 1983.

BCV is present on the European and the international markets. The company has a high technical competence for designing and manufacturing specialty products for demanding applications. It is active in various customer segments like water treatment, oil&gas, secure power, industry, marine, buildings and infrastructure. It also supplies standardized products to the local market. BCV will continue to supply Schneider Electric with products.

The SGB-SMIT Group, as a "pure" and independent transformer manufacturer with decades of experience, manufactures capital goods for power supply and is one of the market leaders with its products. SGB-SMIT is therefore a perfect fit for BCV, with BCV complementing SGB-SMIT´s portfolio by specialty and low voltage products.
