Doing the best - and playing it safe OTC sets an example.

OTC Services in Louisville, Ohio is the member of the SGB-SMIT Group that provides on-site transformer service for our North American customers, as well as, a 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility. The focus is on the install, repair, rewind, and new manufacturing of oil transformers.

Recently we received a message from Louisville, which reported about a very special performance of the team in the USA. A performance that can't be measured in terms of revenue or turnover, or in terms of megavolt amperes - even though it's the result of an extraordinary joint effort by the entire team!

At the end of 2018, an important milestone was reached at OTC: there have been no lost working hours due to an accident/injury for more than 750,000 working hours.

To put it in a nutshell, the last accident/injury that resulted in downtime occurred at OTC in October 2014. This success is so important for OTC, as well as for the SGB-SMIT Group as a whole, because it reflects the commitment to safe working shared by all employees. Only if we all work every day to be thoughtful and safe can the company protect its most valuable resource, its employees.

Each employee at OTC received a small gift from management as a gesture of gratitude, expressing their appreciation for working prudently and taking responsibility for each other in the team.

750,000 working hours without lost time due to accidents: This figure may not be an economic metric. Nevertheless, it is an important symbol of deliberate action that serves the common goal as well as the well-being of the individual participants.

For the SGB-SMIT Group, safety in practice is clearly a quality feature of the manufactured products - and a central element of a corporate philosophy that is committed to the "dedicated" feature.
