Reliable. Ready for the future. Certified.

As an association of specialists, the SGB-SMIT Group as a whole provides a wide range of solutions regarding energy transportation and energy distribution; its individual members focus on individual components and excel within their business segments thanks to great expertise. This also goes for SGB Regensburg: here, transformers including those specifically designed for wind turbines are developed and manufactured. SGB decided to have the new wind power transformer DTTH1NG 2500/30, 50 Hz evaluated and certified by an independent agency. SGB has thus consolidated its position in this major segment of the energy market, providing potential and existing customers with neutral support in the decision-making process.

By choosing DNV GL, SGB has opted for the world-wide leading providers of testing, certification and consulting services for the energy value chain. Thanks to this constructive cooperation, it was possible to carry out the component certification within less than two months. The result: The transformer manufactured by SGB Regensburg was certified for its outstanding reliability, functionality and quality, which grants manufacturers of wind power plants stability for long-term planning, short development times and reliable operation.

DNV GL has set itself the objective of “making the world a safer, more intelligent and greener place day by day” - an objective which the SGB-SMIT Group is happy to share.
