SGB POWER MATLA successful in largest tender to date
At the beginning of the year, one of the world's ten largest power suppliers approached our group member SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA: The plant in Pretoria, South Africa, was able to take part in a call for tenders of special scope.
The aim was to take part in the supply of a total of 492 small and 10 medium-sized power transformers as well as 42 large transformers. 158 different transformer designs were to be issued. All this includes the complete package of the tender as it was first requested in such dimensions from SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA.
The SGB-SMIT Group owes the fact that our bid could be submitted punctually and in compliance with all tendering aspects, despite the enormous volume, on the one hand due to the high commitment of all employees involved in Pretoria - and on the other hand due to the successful international teamwork within the group. For some of the requested positions the Dutch colleagues from Royal SMIT contributed their expertise, so that part of the tendered services could be offered in cooperation between Dutch and South African members of the SGB-SMIT Group.
On 24 May, SGB POWER MATLA received the order for a highly attractive part of the overall tender, and the group member will manufacture and supply two large transformers with 500 MVA each. Welcome side effect: Based on the experience gained in this project, SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA will continue to participate in large-scale tenders and can then fall back on tried and tested bidding processes in order to once again present itself as a "Dedicated Partner" with transformer competence and a convincing offer.
SGB-SMIT congratulates the young group member as well as the employees at the Pretoria production site, who mastered all the challenges of this extensive tender and ensured that SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA can make a significant contribution to the customer's overall project.
